Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill You drill a while, you pull out and change bits, then you drill a while, then you pull out and change bits. It ain't steady drilling all day every day. Sometimes a bit breaks, and you gotta have a fishing tool go down and get it. There's a day. Mud has to be constantly regulated. If ain't just turn on the drill and go to 16,000 feet. It's a slow process.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Okie, You don't know how hard I'm praying that all that oil gets caught up in the loop current...rounds the Keys...so that the Gulf Stream brings all that $hit to Britain where it belongs. "Can I hear an AMEN sister !!!!" :hihi:.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill It should be emphasized though that this is going 24 hours a day, 12 hour shifts each. None of this 9-5 and have a good weekend stuff...
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Yes and the relief wells will encounter (and have) the same issues the origianl well did with high pressure / "kicks" from the gas in the formation.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill unfortunately, that would just hurt more of the u.s. my thought is to scoop up massive amounts and dump it on his front yard. and in his living room. and other parts of the house. im sure there is a pool out back. make sure it has a slick and several layers deep. :angryfire
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Kent Wells Tech Update - 24 May 2010 An informative presentation for a lay person like myself. Keep in mind the source.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill a video shot in the same area as the pic I posted. shows how thick it down there.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Thanks for that. Really well done and informative. I'd love to see their informative video on preventing coastal intrusion of the oil and methods of cleanup...........
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Glad the "suits" are confident, wonder how optomistic the engineers and hands on workers are? The top kill has proven successful in aboveground wells in Kuwait and Iraq, but has never before been tried a mile beneath the sea. Company executives peg its chances of success at 60 to 70 percent. BP internal probe focuses on other companies' work - Yahoo! News While I'm thinking about it, if there is a 60 - 70% chance of success, why wasn't this tried first? Probably because the "box" would have captured more oil I suspect.
