    No. It's purpose is to mitigate civil liability, not excise government control over private enterprise.

    If it did, exactly what would the President do? No office of government service is neither trained, nor do they have the resources to handle something like this. Hell, BP barely has the personnel and resources for this and it's what they do.

    i agree that if they govt took over, they would just have to contract out everything and that would be a nightmare making the whole process 5 times more expensive and 10 times longer to take care of.

    but the govt should be a bully in riding bp's ass to do what needs to be done, no matter how much it costs them.

    Oh i don't know, be a leader, maybe crack some skulls down here instead of attending a fundraiser. Assure the people of south Louisiana that their livelihood will be restored.

    I agree with most of that. I would prefer the Feds minimize their involvement until we get the damn well plugged. I've read and heard too many instances where BP's and others efforts have been hampered by the Government bureaucracy (sp??).
