i dont like the recent projections ive seen. playing Maryland, Minnesota, ND. i like this one though-- playing st joe's ---sportsline.com
We've already discussed N.D. No worries there. Maryland's 2-8 on the road. Key Wins on the year were twice over Duke, who's horribly overrated anyway. (Duke went 1-1 last week with a win over Miami and a loss at UNC, but moved up one spot in the AP poll, don't tell me they're not overrated). Minnesota's a respectable 5-5 on the road, but the Big 10 sans Illinois, Michigan State and Wisconsin is like the Southland Conference. (For the record, MN went 1-4 against those teams). That's their sole respectable win, at home over Wisconsin.
No arguments there. Those guards were amazing. Where'd West go, Boston right? And how good is Orlando going to be in a few years with Francis, Nelson and Howard? Wow.
im not saying we wouldnt win. its just that a lot of the outcome of the game is out of LSU's control. if any of those teams bring their A game, we'd be in for a dogfight--evidenced by some of their wins you mentioned. however, if we play st joe's, or creighton, or miamiOH we win if we bring our A game. see my point? i dont think horrible road records are valid because our road record is not good either and these games will be at a neutral site nowhere near BR.
I think with Cincinatti, Charlotte and I think Nevada? all losing, I think a win tonight solidifies a no. 6 seed.
I like the pairings they have on ESPN Bracketology. Assuming we stay in the Albequerque regional no matter what happens.... At a #6 seed, we have a good shot of getting to the Sweet 16 with an opener vs. the RedHawks and a second round matchup vs. UConn. They don't have the inside presence of Okafor like last year, and Charlie Villanueva seems to be a player who shows up for certain games and not for others. Rashad Anderson will determine that matchup. At a #5 seed, (I don't know if it would be possible to get there, would need a Pitt or Villanova collapse, Florida seems solid #5), we'd have an opener vs the Irish and a second round matchup vs Gonzaga. Rony Turiaf is an absolute beast, but I'm pretty unfamiliar with the rest of the players on their team...ND too. Any thoughts?
yes, I don't want any part of UCONN. they are playing as well as anyone right now and have been without their leading scorer Rasheed Anderson who will return tonight. he may have played a couple minutes last night, not sure. Their close game against the hoyas last night will probably be a nice reminder that they should come to play. Id love to play Notre Dame as they have been awful. not sure who I want to play but i know who I dont want to play.
Yeah, get LSU the hell out of a potential 2nd round match versus UConn, which would take place in Massachusetts, meaning it'd be a huge pro-Huskies crowd. They're white-hot right now (9 of the last 10) and are a Tourney-tested, experienced team. No UConn. No way.
we can overtake UF depending on SEC tourn. if we beat uk we may be a 5 no matter what else happens. cbssportsline has us as 5 right now. i dont want uconn either, but id rather them than gonzaga. only well coached teams beat gonzaga. i saw gonzaga this season and theyre like uk with more firepower (not as deep)---very well coached, take only good shots, pass very well, have athleticism and size.
