I have given up on the notion of jumping ahead of USC in the human polls ... and I'll never see world peace! LOL Thankfully, the BCS MAY still allow us to play in the Sugar Bowl, despite the human polls, should we get some help from other teams this weekend. I have yet to cancel my hotel rooms in New Orleans...
I'm glad to hear that. Like you, I don't have a lot of faith that the human voters will change their minds...I'm just questioning their professionalism. I have a feeling that the BCS thing may wash out with us on top... yet the thing to bear in mind here is that computer polls are only as accurate and unbiased as the people operating the computer, i.e., the old "garbage in - garbage out" theory. We'll have to wait and see. Let's just say that if things don't go the way we want them to, I wouldn't be disappointed w/ a Rose Bowl matchup w/ Michigan. Just about the only thing that I COULDN'T get up for would be a Fiesta Bowl rematch w/ Texas. I have a feeling, taking the not only therevenge factor into consideration, but the fact that UT isHIGHLY overrated, that that game would end up a massacre in favor of LSU.
I don't think it's a bad idea for a few emails, but after that, I think people should back off and let what happens happen. If they continue to get pounded by emails all week long, they'll probably hold a grudge for longer than this season. Right or wrong, the LSU football team will suffer because of the actions of some over eager fans. BTW, whenever a person says they plan to vote for LSU #2 if they beat Georgia, please stop emailing that person.
If Syracuse beats Notre Dame and Boise St. beats Hawaii (extremely possible), I think we might be in it. That will destroy USC's strength of schedule, and prolly will drop them in SOME computer polls. As long as Mauck doesn't play like he did against Ole Mess and the defense owns the game like they always do.....we will win. Oregon State will show up to play their game and I think they may give USC some trouble. The BCS is still a big ugly steaming heap but there is nothing we can do about it.....not even complain forever, that will change it. the only thing we can do is win. If we make it, I'll see you in Nawlins.....if we don't, Incredible season and I can't wait for next year.
BTW......if no Sugar Bowl......i hope with all of me that we play FSU and beat the mess out of them.....
I'm just hoping that next Tuesday morning at this time, we'll have a whole bunch of USC fans pissing and moaning about how THEY got shafted by the BCS...even though they aren't exactly able to tell you HOW the BCS shafted them.
Yea, I love how Trev Alberts said he wanted USC because of their tradition with the horse and the band. Has he even seen the Golden Band from Tigerland? If we are not the best marching band in the country than I don't know who is (and don't give me that Ohio State crap, best band in the land my butt).
