Just thought this deserved a thread of its own. Bash away. He deserves it on this one. With all the talented depth on the LSU basketball team (EXTREME BITING SARCASM), we couldn't find room for him. Confirmed on Fox Sports SW. His dad said it would have probably been LSU had Brady made room for him on the team.
Are you suggesting that paying for Garrett Temple to come to LSU for five years, but not allowing someone who can actually contribute to play for LSU without occupying a basketball scholarship is wrong? Don't tell SabanFan this. But its probably due to the fact that we were on probation for a while.
if the dude isnt good enough to contribute to the basketball team (and who am i to say he is or is not) i would hope brady wouldnt waste a spot on him, just so he would come play football. would you want him to waste a roster spot on the hoops team to play football? i would rather the hoops recruiting be based only on basketball talent.
Martin, he's a much better hoops talent than either Temple or Thomas...Get it? The same people saying these things-admittedly, are not infallible-but they're the same people who say that LeBron James was a great high school player, and so was Kobe Bryant... He is a 3 star basketball recruit, Duke wanted him not only to play football, but to contribute on the basketball team. Outside of Rolle and Mitchell he is probably better than every recruit we've signed so far. We don't have many athletic, 6'7 players who can shoot. We could've used him.
Who is martin to listen to anything anyone says that sounds anywhere near logical if he doesn't agree with them...He spins faster than J-Lo's publicist post-breakup when he can't defend something so simple as this: The guy is a better basketball player than the ones we signed.

geaux tige Even if he came to LSU, I don't think it would've cost Brady a scholarship. He would've come on Football Scholarship, so Brady lost a 'Free' Player. At least, this seems like how it would be.
We've signed 3 'unranked' players this year, one of whom was being offered by the likes of Northern Arizona and Portland State. Bennett would've been able to contribute here at LSU.
