It's not the first time he has said it and he may actually believe it. But even if he doesn't it makes sense for him to say things like that before he goes into negotiations for a contract with whatever team drafts him. The higher he can convince the team that he should have been drafted the more money he is likely to make and you can bet whoever gets him will say they would have drafted him with the first pick if they had it. We all know that JR has way more potential and Quinn probably does also but he shouldn't publicly admit that before he gets a contract. Look for Quinn to be the next Rick Mirer, an over payed much over hyped pretty boy from Notre Dame that doesn't belong on the same field as JR.

This is such a ridiculous argument. The man (Quinn) has confidence and we are bashing him for it?

I'd love to know for the people bashing Quinn for this, are you insecure about Brady Quinn??????

I think Quinn got upset about the new front page photo of JR on ESPN mag with his Nike swoosh jersey!

I am sure Quinn believes that, but JR will be the #1 draft pick.

I gave him a little bashing, but why would anybody be insecure about Quinn??? Uhhhh...our team killed his team.

There's confidence and then there's acting somewhat like a baby. He has said one of his goals is to be the #1 pick. That's fine. But does he have to keep talking about himself all of the time while taking quick little jabs at others. Sure some LSU fans and others are going to pick on him. They're just responding.

I could really care less who goes #1 and I have nothing against ND. Rudy was a great movie, etc., (although he was gay). I just want to know what the "much more" is that he talks about? Personally, I don't see the "much more" that he offers. I'd like him to elaborate.

And as far as comparing it to a promotion and how any of the rest of us would act the same, I wouldn't. First of all, it'll be a heterosexual day at Duke before I'm ever in a similar situation where I might get a multimillion dollar raise. Okay, two sexual preference jokes...I'll probably get axed like Don Imus. Odds are with all the joking, I'm probably the gay one. I'm calling my therapist to find out... Anyway, I don't know many bosses who promote you based on how good you talk about yourself. They promote you based on your body of work. Besides, they're all getting many millions. Who gives a $hit if you make a little less than player X. You're still gonna be RICH BIOOOOTCH. He should just be happy he is in such a great position for having ZERO bowl vicories in three tries on such a historic team.

In the end, I still think he is a pretty good QB. But based on last season against top competition, he's nowhere near deserving of a #1 pick.

Or he and his wife fell out of love with each other and they tried to make it work and it did not. And he likes to gamble and has the money to do it.

I guess it's how you look at it and want to spin it.

    Just an observation.

It's been a while since I've posted, but I have been checking in to try to keep up.

This debate over Quinn and Russel is just going to get crazier over the next couple of weeks. Bottom line is no one knows how either one will turn out. Everyone will have their opinions, some biased and some not.

I will say this, I've met the kid a few different times and never saw any indication that he was "cocky". In fact his personality was very similar to Peyton Manning, whom I've had the opportunity to meet in a similar enviornment (pre-game event). I'm not trying to compare Quinn's skills in any way to Manning's, I just remember them both being similar in personality.

Apparantly, there is one category that Quinn is ahead of Russell, and everyone else for that matter.
