I thought we were talking about basketball. My mistake, I guess. And I thought the operative word was mediocrity, not FAILURE. Big difference. So Brown's tenure wasn't mediocre overall? TWO final four appearances in 25 years. So, every 12.5 years, you finish as one of the top 4 teams in the country. That is mediocrity. And then for some icing on the cake, throw in some NCAA penalties and no talent on the team. Nice. Looking at it this way, the bar isn't really set all that high for Brady.
Pay attention, TE. Read the posts. No one is touting Brady for coach of the year or a 5 year extension. All we're saying is, the team (our team :lsup: ) is on a nice little run and we should enjoy it and wait until the final result is in before analyzing the need for a new coach. I am frankly surprised at how well they've been playing, but I'm not fool enough to think we won't run into trouble before the year is out. We still have to beat Bama. MSU again and Arky again. Not an easy task (for any team). Brady has assembled some talented players and his team is proving to be competitive. Quit assembling your crown of thorns and take a break to smell the roses.
I bascially said, it many different ways, that Brady is not a good coach and we could do much better...LSU basketball is not where I would like it to be. I expect much better. Just making sure I understand your perspective. You clearly don't like Brady, but do you endorse canning him in mid-season? And is it impossible to enjoy LSU Basketball when they win, even if Brady's there? Or does he just taint it to much for you?
You see, this is my main problem...I get some mainstream acceptance when he finally plays a half-ass decent schedule during the early going...He flops out early, we all start to realize he's not the Wooden of West Baton Rouge, and then guys start coming out of the woodwork with not much more to add to the conversation that the Brady supporters routinely bat down like a pinata... They don't help the cause for change...and that is the long-term health of LSU Basketball suffers with each second that passes with John Brady as head coach of the LSU Men's Basketball Program. I'm convinced Brady earned the job when his Samford team beat LSU. John Brady has done little to prevent my conclusion he is another mediocre Joe Dean hire. I fear that an 18-10 team with a quick exit will assure another year of this type of ride. I would almost kill to have Mike Anderson as head coach. Now, having said that, I wish Brady all the success in the world because it's LSU. But it would great if someone would hire him away because of the success at LSU, rather than firing him because of a losing season

I was banned from an LSU Sports Message Board site, and after last year's basketball season, people were out and out calling me some LSU pariah because I don't goose step behind a redneck masquerading as an SEC Basketball Coach...Hell, I was even temporarily banned from this one... What ego are you talking about? Give me a break...The bottom line is that I've been a torch-bearer for the Dump Brady movement in the face of massive amounts of undue criticism and character assassination, and numbnuts like the one that you guys are having fun with don't do my opinions any favors when you lump me into his column, or lump him into my column...Whatever the case may be...
