   Does anyone have any info to confirm this. Was LSU at #12 the lowest intial ranked team to go play for a NC?
   
   If so, it seems that USC and others below them are pretty much out of the NC hunt. However, this season could change with the way things are shaking out.

   Nutriaitch Fear the Buoy

   I saw a chart somewhere today showing where all the past MNC were in the first BCS of the season. Other than LSU '03, all others were in top 6.
