  5. I'm not going to pretend to know Secret Service procedure, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I do know that while an ex-Pres can decline a SS detail outright, I don't know that they're allowed the leeway of declining protection for certain events. I also know that ultimately, the Secret Service answers to the head of Homeland Security, not the people they protect.

  8. It is certainly is the fault of the parents. More than guns. More than society. You can't raise kids without consequences or judgement of their actions. They maybe won't grow up to be the person YOU think they should be but with a little attention to detail, you can at least know who they are. A life of scorn and alcoholism is in these parent future.
