Breaking News Involving Houston Nutt

Honestly, I'd be more worried about this than most of you guys are. He is certainly a serious candidate at this point.

 

What are you Hog Fans smoking now a days, I doubt skip is thinking about bringing Nutt in... I would put more stature in keeping Jimbo Fischer than hiring Nutt.

 

Funny how only the Arkansas fans are saying that. I've not even seen Nutt's name in ANYTHING other than this thread or an Arkansas forum that was linked previously.

I think Houston Nutt is a good coach.

I would be surprised if he is offered the job, and I would wonder if Nutt would take it.

But, he beats LSU as much as he loses with less talent. He knows the area as far as recruiting. We could certainly do worse. He just looks bad to people this year because he lost 21 starters from last year's team and he went 5-6. But, 5-6 was a good job in the SEC with that team. Also, recruiting for Arkansas is not the easiest thing in the world to do.

My top candidates who have interviewed are Petrino and Del Rio. My second tier that have interviewed would be Miles and Nutt. I would certainly prefer Nutt to Mike Riley or Jimbo Fisher.

 

I would too if I were you. But it's all over the place up here. I'm not saying that "it's his job to lose" or anything, but some very credible news sources in Arkansas have confirmed that he is a serious candidate.

The voice of the Razorbacks, Paul Eels, just reported on the Little Rock ABC affiliate that he has credible information that says that Nutt was offered today, but will take 48 hours to consider.

Again, I hope you guys hire him more than anyone. I also thought that the mere mention of it two days ago was total horsesh*t, but it's being reported by nearly every media outlet in Arkansas.

A couple of days ago Butch Davis 'had been offered'...and if you go to the Lousiville forum RIGHT NOW, you will see many credible reports that Petrino has 'been offered'.

NO ONE HAS BEEN OFFERED YET

Skip is going to go through his list of all candidates before offering, that is abundantly clear if he is interviewing Houston Nutt - no offense (he's a solid coach).

 

You can call it what you want, I'm just telling you what's being reported up here.

I'll believe jack del rio or jeff tedford because i wanna believe it. Nutt will never be the coach here. sometimes you feel like a Nutt, sometimes you don't.
