    So from the article JV appears not to have been on board with this decision to start game 5 at all.

    "Perhaps it would be nice to have him around Saturday.

    “It’s not up to me. I don’t make those decisions,” Verlander said."

    That's beyond ridiculous that Verlander wasn't consulted before this decision was made.

    So you're AJ Hinch and you just lost game 4. You still starting JV game 5?

    If we lose 9 to 8 tonight even you are going to wonder what could have been.

    Verlander pitching today could have forced the Yankees to have and go with Severino on short rest and then the bullpen tomorrow. either way it would have been major advantage for us with Verlander over whoever they would have pitched.
