Bucs sign Gerald McCoy to $98m contract

Really? I know he's an all pro and arguably the best DT in the league, but is it really smart to pay him with elite QB money? $98m with $50m guarranteed, the most for a defensive player in NFL history.

Actually JJ Watt's 6 year $100 million is bigger. But it's still a ton of money.

 

Meant to say most for a DT in history. Technically, Watt is a DE, but he plays every position on the D-line. Maybe pay him (Watt) that kind of money. Maybe. But Gerald McCoy? With $50m guarranteed? Not sure that's the wisest decision.
