http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50684-2004Jan26.html?nav=hptop_tb The Republican Party and Bush are fiscally irresponsible. America is entering a new wave of dangerous out of control debt. Now Bush wants more tax cuts for millionaires and wants to borrow money to pay for it.
CottonCreep couldn't be George Carlin. Carlin is funny and Cottonbowel's "kind of people" don't have senses of humor.
I'm eager to hear from self-styled conservatives how President Bush's economic policies match up with the conservative position. How does his prescription drug plan which costs $400 billion match up? How does his increased funding for the sewerage that is Americorps match up? How does his apparent bottomless spending on Iraq match up? How does his other non-military domestic spending increases match up? How does his increased federal spending on education match up? I'm guessing based on the attacks on the messenger, who may or may not deserve to be attacked based on his lack of style, pretty much sums up the answer to my questions. You don't have any. Is there anything this administration wants to cut? Or are we going to continue to give tax breaks to the non-productive and increase spending on programs that in the past the so-called conservative party railed against? Hypocrisy?
i agree with m.o.m. the prescription drug thing is terrible, americorps is ridiculous. education spending i can deal with, and i will never complain about military spending in iraq. and while all that spending is bad, and i hate it, i overlook it because bush is doing so well on foreign policy. surely if a democrat was in office, the spending would be as bad or worse.
Just once I want to see Bush and the Republican majority get fillibustered for not spending, rather than spending too little in the Democratic minority's eyes. All of these programs from the arts to Americorps that the Republicans railed against when there was a Democratic congress and/or a Democratic President, the Republicans and Bush are increasing spending on today? Yet, its liberal to ask why the tax cuts with apparent no regard whatsoever for runaway spending.
