    Mainieri:
"We definitely have our hands full over the next three days with BYU and Southeastern," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "They both present a number of challenges, so we'll have to play at our best to beat them. I've been pleased with the way we've played to start the season, and we're looking to make more progress against two outstanding ball clubs."

    interesting notes about BYU:
--it is the largest religious university and third-largest private university in the U.S.
--the student body is 98.5% Mormon, and they live by a strict code of conduct, which prohibits—-among other things–-sex outside of marriage (and only 25% of the students are married), the consumption of alcohol, camping with members of the opposite sex, growing a beard without a doctor’s approval, etc
--it's named after Brigham Young, the "American Moses" or "Mormon Moses," who led his followers, the Mormon pioneers, in an exodus through a desert, to what they saw as a promised land in the Rocky Mountains. Brigham Young also founded Salt Lake City and was the first governor of the Utah Territory

    Scoring Summary:

Bot 2nd: SOLO HOME RUN BY KATZ puts LSU up 1-0

Top 3rd: Nola had a no-hitter going for LSU, and then he got rocked in the 3rd...he let four BYU batters in a row score: he walked a batter, followed by giving up back-to-back singles (one for an RBI), followed by giving up a 3-run home run. Since then, Nola has only allowed 1 hit, and that was off a bunt

Bot 3rd: Rhymes (walked) and Laird (doubled) reached base and then JACOBY JONES HIT THEM HOME WITH A 2-RBI DOUBLE to make it 4-3

    After 5, it's:

    4-3 BYU

BYU's starting pitcher tonight, Desmond Poulson, has an 8-3 career record at BYU, only allowing a career opposing batting average of .257 (last year it was .143)
