If you asked me which 2 I would take (if I could only have 2), I would take Auburn and Boise State losing this Friday. I feel really good about Oregon State upsetting Oregon next weekend.
Everything aside we need to take care of business on Saturday which will all but give us a BCS game. I'd like to go to Arizona to play TCU or Boise. I know that won't happen as the Sugar will snap us up if available.
Do we really want Alabama to win today? If Oregon and Boise both lose than we prob want Auburn to win since we will jump TCU with a win tomorrow?
Okay, islstl time for an update. What happens if we win tomorrow since Boise lost tonight? How close are we to TCU in the BCS? Do we jump them if we come out 4th in both polls based on SOS? If we jump into 3rd with a win tomorrow, an Oregon loss gives us a great chance at playing Auburn for the NCG correct? We must take care of business tomorrow or this is all idle discussion.
Ah, but that's the thing, I haven't been making predictions. I have been giving what-if scenarios. LSU will overtake TCU in the computer polls since TCU plays a 1-9 team and will take a big hit for that. If LSU wins convincingly tomorrow, all bets are off. Let's just say we'll be watching that Oregon/Oregon State game intently next Saturday night.
I think our chance went away yesterday when Alabama should have scored 42 points on it's first 6 possessions.
So a win today and the Oregon / Oregon state game decides if we play Auburn in a rematch...possibly? I think the voters could jump Wisconsin ahead of us as they won't want to see an all SEC NCG.
Wisconsin is way too far back in the computer polls to catch us. But to answer your question, it does appear that LSU could overtake TCU in the BCS with a win today. The CBS crew has talked about it and the sentiment is that a 1 loss SEC team should be ranked ahead of a TCU team who has played NO ONE.
