Would most likely be ruled ineligible and especially if it is proven Cam had knowledge of the request for money.
Seems like as soon as money entered the equation he became ineligible, period, regardless of where he ended up playing after that point.
If this person finds this text from cam's father it's all over for cam. But what's the chance of that text being found out of billions of text messages weekly. The only people in the world that could do this is the NSA and there not tipping their hand over this
wouldn't shock me if the cell carrier can do it. he would probably need to know as close to an exact date/time as possible to get them though. att overs service to retrieve your contacts in the event you lose/destroy your phone. if they can get phone numbers that were saved on the phone, why couldn't they get texts that actually travel the airwaves?
I bet there is a lot of people sweating it out right now. My prediction is the newtons and all the rest of the parties involved will be lawyered up and pleading the 5th real soon if not already. The FBI is a another whole level over the NCAA. People are going to be in cover your ass mode and rat to save my own ass mode now.
Something tells me that AU is fricked and that the NCAA will be forced to act very fast on this. Nothing I've read or know about the Barners feeds into this (although, given their sordid history, I'll be shocked if the gang that forced Tubby out is clean in this, and I'd bet that other players were paid as well). The main thing that feeds my belief that this will end very bad for AU is the fact that CLM is the luckiest damn mother ****er on this planet, and after the Bama win, there's nothing more that would solidify the fan base behind him than us losing (in one of AU's lowest-scoring and closest games to date) to a one-player team that cheated to get said one player.
Uhhh ,.... no .. that text could be found in the archives of Bell's account through his provider in a matter of minutes. A judge simply has to sign the search warrant to allow authorities access to private information, or Bell, as stated, can obtain a copy of his own info for them.
Even if Cam had no knowledge...and that winds up being the defense...you know what kind of presidence would be set if he was let go clean!
