We use Eureka tents when camping in the mountains of New Mexico and the Davis Mountains of Texas. They have held up very well in many SuperCell Storms with very gusty winds. (Hearing the thunder reverb off the mountains is really quite an experience.) I don't see our tents under the commercial line anymore, but they are like the 2 man military tents.

I've used nothing but Eureka A-frames and Sierra Designs dome tents for three decades. They are the best, in my opinion.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of a thread previously on this- maybe we should "Merge" them. Duplicate threads irritate the hell out of me. :thumb:

Night fishing? Not with a bow by any chance?

I used to scuba dive there......never saw the "Man eating" catfish but one time the girl I would dive with starting pulling on me and when I turned back, something had kicked up silt pretty high from the lake's floor. There's a volkswagon by the dam that everyone scratches their name on.

One time, we brought a spear gun and took out some NICE white perch- illegal though, can't spear any scaled fish in freshwater (At least back then- not sure of current laws, this was about 18 yrs. ago).

It was ok.... We were fishing for bull reds but caught all black drum... Which none of us really care for. Kept giving them away to people throughout the night and released the rest. I caught seven of them, fiance' caught two... All together we caught over twenty of them. Definitely a fun weekend though!

It's time to find some new places to go camping. Anywhere within a 6 hour drive of BR. Suggestions?

    What about State Parks?

Chicot State Park just built NICE cabins overlooking the water. Sam Houston...... I used to have a link to the State Parks- reasonably priced.
