The "Geaux" font that LSU designed especially for its new logo is actually very nice...Is there a place where I can download it?
Good luck TE. The new fonts have been licensed. My cousin's wife works in Compliance, and he worked for TAF before moving over to another LSU dept. The lock on the font couldn't be picked by the finest safe crackers in the land. He said they are virtually untouchable. There are only a few people who are "authorized" to use the font, and they are very high up.
Are you kidding me? Why develop the font if no one else can use it? LSU is acting like Microsoft...How do you generate interest by allowing people to LOOK at the font...
theres a program called Fontographer which you can use to create fonts. It's very simple to use. It would just take alittle time.
Starscream LSU...I would gladly pay for the right to use the font...I mean....LSU had NO DAMN PROBLEM allowing licensed merchandise on every street corner from Baton Rouge to Denham Springs... Where was their proprietary instinct when they made those decisions?
I wasn't happy when I found out about the decision to not allow broad use of the LSU fonts. Seems a bit egotistical to me. They should release it, IMO, but I don't hold those keys. Maybe a kind-worded email to Skip might at least get you a response. At least that's what the Cyber-side chats say.
Trust me, my name at the LSU AD is probably about as well regarded as that of...Well, let's just say that they know me, and they're going to be bending over backwards for any favors for me any time soon...
