It's a simple question ... and a fair one at that. Facts about the TU game. 1. The playcalling late was conservative 2. Add merciful as a descriptive adjective. 3. LSU can afford neither. 4. 63-0 or better was easily possible Why does LSU need a 63-0 shellacking here? Reasons: 1. YOU DO IT FOR THE RANKINGS & POLLS 2. LSU can continue to scream about being robbed in the AU game and voters will listen if: LSU keeps smoking everyone's butt with large ghastly scores & shutout defense. LSU didn't & LSU will not benefit from this game in the polls as much. The AU debacle will soon be forgotten in the minds of the voters. LSU covered a 36-point spread by 6 points ... No "eye-opener" for the AP voters here. LSU is not going anywhere this year if this conservatism & merciful attitude continues to be the norm. The above is my opinion and I'll be watching the polls closely to see if LSU gains any ground after lacklustre performances by others.
I just knew there would be complaining about something..... Oh man these types of threads will never geaux away we are doomed to read them after every game
LSU wouldn't have jumped anyone in the polls by pummeling a relative patsy like Tulane 63-0. Teams above LSU in the Top 10 must lose for LSU to move up in the polls for the next week.
