For all you guys out there barking about how poorly LSU played against Arkansas, bear two little things in mind: 1. Ninth straight week playing without an open date. These kids are TIRED. They're beaten up physically. 2. On top of that, a short week of preparation. I won't even mention the fact that yes, Arkansas actually showed up to play. Some of you guys have this fantastic notion that just because LSU has a world of talent, all they should have to do to win every game 42-0 is show up. Those guys on the other sideline are decent players themselves, otherwise they wouldn't be playing football at a major college program. They're not going to run and hide just because the mighty purple and gold has taken the field. Give them some credit too.
I hit "quote reply" then realized that you are just too ignorant to argue with. The Tennessee loss will always be a loss. Nothing I can say will change that and the only thing that would make you happy is if that loss had never happened. Then again, I suspect you would still be complaining about something.
I was reluctant to post in this thread, but I can't help noticing how some of you are quick to point out the stupidity of this thread, but in the same notion, you post and post and post the same diarrhea of the mouth over and over again. If the thread is stupid, do everyone a favor and respond by simpling clicking the "back" button on your browser. It's not hard... Back on topic though: Can LSU beat UGA if we play the same way as we did against Arkansas... Yeah, I think so. Our defense was stingy in that game and if it weren't for (yet another) JV fumble and (yet some more) dropped passes from DB, we'd have probably beaten the spread. Like a few of you have mentioned, you have to give Arkansas credit. They wanted to beat LSU more than anything. It was ALL that team had to play for and Nutt had them up for that game. Could Arkansas have beaten anyone that day with the emotion that they played with? Probably not, but if they played that way against USC, they wouldn't have given up 70 points. Also, UGA is overrated the same way LSU is. Before I get red, let me explain. All season I thought teams like UGA and Bama were overrated. Yes, they kept on winning, but it was ugly. LSU was winning ugly (I thought because of the hurricaines) but kept on winning. Well, Bama is out of it and left are UGA and LSU. Two teams that depending upon which team shows up, are capable of playing with anyone in the country. It should be a helluva game, and not just because it's the SECCG and the Tigers are playing. Honestly this will be a really really good game because of what's on the line and because two VERY schizophrenic teams will be facing off. This is a game where you can't make any predictions, anything could happen. It could be a shoot-out or it could be a defensive strugle a la Alabama, but I know one thing, it will be a helluva championship game!
It is very tought to keep a team playing at their peek year round. Even the best teams have off days. You just have to hope you don't have an off day against a top-rated team. I think LSU will step up to the plate (to use a baseball metaphor) and play well against Georgia. It should be a close game no matter who wins.
One of the reasons for this is that neither team appears to have a true killer instinct. Georgia should have put Auburn away at several points and didn't. Same can be said for LSU not sticking it to Tennessee when LSU had them down by 21, and possibly even 24.
So, you were wrong before and can't see that you could be wrong again? That would be "to WIN a NC" not "to when a NC". You might want to know what you are talking about before you say it!:thumb: Saban hadn't won a NC before coaching here either! You ignorance never ceases to amaze. I cannot find words small enough for you to understand how silly your responses sound, so keep talking to yourself. I am done.
if LSU plays the way it did against Arkansas, we will lose unless Georgia comes out flat also. However, I'm confident that LSU will play much better ball than we showed on saturday in the SECCG.
