He is in the same boat as Clinton......disagree almost everything he stands for, but someone that I can only imagine would be a blast to party with....

Anyone giving LSU national pub is ok (on that point alone!) by me!:geauxtige

Don't hate the guy just because he made it big.......

We don't ask you to take down the LSU bumper stickers off your ice cream truck....

carville and i sat in the same classrooms and i think i even had a one or 2 of the same poli sci professors he had, albeit maybe 35 years later. i read an article about him in the reveille that said he was a real bad student and would drive off to mexico instead of going to classes. thats awesome.

Look, I don't agree with Carville's political views but you have to look at the bigger picture. Here's a guy in the national spotlight quite often who is an LSU alum who constantly talks about his love for the Tigers.....from the University PR perspective...that's a grand slam home run. Every time he utters something positive about LSU it's being heard by millions of people, you can't beat that, it's FREE advertising for the university. There are plenty of other pieces-of-feces alums who bring down the image of LSU, James Carville is NOT one of those.

Yeah he gets attention from 50 million democrats most of whom like him but could care less where he is from, and 50 million Republicans who see him as an a-hole and hate him (not good for anyone).

Wrong again my Plainsman friend. From a PR standpoint it's frickin huge. If Carville is reaching that many folks, which I don't think it's 50 million, but that is FREE publicity and is nothing but good for the univeristy because it reaches places and people that university recruiters never get to. Like I said, I don't care for his political views, but him appearing on PTI in an LSU shirt, that's cake...FREE nationwide advertising!

I like it when LSU grads are successful. Seeing a successful person promoting LSU is much better than seeing backwoods yokels covered in P&G on TV for bowl games and whatnot. Just my humble opinion.
