Re: I'll tell you a little story... I think were may be signing the same song when it's all said and done. The knuckleheads at USL erected the goal post from the A&M game as a shrine outside cajun field. No BULL!! :dis:
Actually, if you have teams like LSU paying schools like ULL to come and get killed, then that is less tax money that ULL has to use for their football program, thus less money from the tax-payers.
loco you must be loco to actually think LSU worries one bit about USL or whatever wannabe school. too damned funny and pathetic to even fathom if you truly believe it. go back to USL where you came from. no one cares about that place.
Doh! That was stupid of me... I knew that but had a brain fart! I was reading the Tennessean article and mistakely type Tennessee....:dis:
Dude...Mestepey looks like he has two RIGHT arms. Please go back to the girlie pictures   :geauxtige
Do you actually think ULL would SCALE back their money demand from the public by $400,000 if they came to Baton Rouge? Lemme remind you that ULL was allowed to change the name IF another state school would join in. Northeast Louisiana was looking to justify the move from 1-AA to 1-A in football. Northeast Louisiana needed a conference to play in. Tech was not going to help them join the WAC. Tulane wasn't going to help them join C-USA. The SEC wasn't expanding, so what was Monroe to do? Well, Dr. Authement suggested to Mr. Swearingen that the Sun Belt would be an option IF NLU became ULM. Presto! ULL, now demanding top dollar for funding, and ULM, begging the accreditation folks not to pull the plug, are playing "big time football". ULL opens at Texas this season. In a few years they make more trips to Texas for games in Lubbock, College Station, and Austin. They could make the bus trip to Baton Rouge and save a ton on hotel and air fares. But they won't because LSU would not agree to give ULL a "home game" in the 68,000 seat Superdome. LSU can make more money sending a check to Boone, NC than humoring a delusional dream from short old men in red sport coats with huge chips on their shoulders! ULM visits Georgia and has a "home game" in Little Rock against the Hogs (how much sales tax is being paid to Louisiana for soft drinks and hot dogs sold at this "home game"?). Those pay days have to push $1M. Do you think the Indians are going push back from the taxpayer trough? LSU does not have an obligation, morally or legally, to any university in Louisiana to see that their bills are being paid. LSU ticket holders and financial backers, not the legislature, can howl about sending money out of state. Maybe an all-Louisiana league, call it...the Gulf... WAIT! They tried that and fell out over the idea of being on equal footing with each other. Like that Tulane story after the 1987 game, just being on the same field with LSU is athletic equality and financial legitimacy for these bottom feeders.
