Yeah.. ULL's was ranked top 10 in the country in Computer Science.. fact is, im not saying ULL or any other school in the state is equal to LSU, but to discount them all as the schools where the underachievers or poor people go is just idiotic.
I think the reference to bottom feeders was in terms of athletics. I wouldn't get offended because it is true when it comes to athletics. Academics are a whole other area and it comes down to the strength of the individual programs at various universities.
ive been saying that this whole time.. heh.. when it comes to athletics, im for supporting any team in the state, because when it comes down to it, these teams are made up of a bunch of kids that just want to play ball. I will never understand the mentality of people who want to put down teams from smaller schools.
That's why all of the real computationally interested students at LSU major in computer engineering. Those that can't hack that go over to ISDS. The CS department at LSU has been a joke for many, many years. The reason for that is that it is part of the College of Basic Sciences and has absolutely no affiliation with EE. The real top schools like MIT, Georgia Tech, etc.'s lump the two departments under one roof, which is where it should be.

Yes.. they are the top college.. but the term "flagship" denotes some kind of leadership role, and not wanting anything to do with the other schools in the state doesnt match that description.

Not sure what you are talking about as, IMO, there isn't any more future for Lane in baseball after this year. There's not a whole lot of market for lefties that can't break 85mph. He however is a hell of a kid with heart and grit who will succeed at whatever he does in the future LSU! :geauxtige
