A long time ago the NCAA created a rule that allows for teams to go for two points after a touchdown.

Thats the point you are missing. It was a terrible call.

Which is the exact reason you don't go for it on 4th and 6 miles.
If we had any shot at moving the ball, we would have a much shorter distance to cover on said 4th down.

Similar to what Leach was doing??? :insane:

I was unbiased in that game and I thought Miles was an idiot for going on 4th and 23.

Please feel free tell us how you figure punting with exactly 8:14 on the clock, would generate LSU 15 points to tie, or 16 points to win.

Your debate on him going for it in this situation on 4th and 23 is similar to debating on whether or not to wipe your crack after taking a dump. Go with your gut instinct :thumb:

    1. One hell of a lot higher than 4th and a billion. We were going to go for two regardless so it doesn't matter. We're 91st in the country in 4th down conversions -- and I bet we were a lot closer on most of those.

    2. It still keeps us within two scores which is the point. And not getting the impossible 4th down almost guarantees them the victory.

    3. The two point rule has been used for 50 years.

    4. Again, 15 points = two possessions.

    Think outside the box here...

If Jefferson is seriously injured during the sack that took place, I doubt this argument was ever created, but rather the other way around.

You kinda see what I'm saying here?

You weren't playing Troy, but rather a solid SEC team that was on fire that particular day. There was going to be no miracle comeback with 8 minutes left...No reason to risk injuring your very last option.
