One thing to worry about is the timing. He bailed MSU in early December for LSU after the season was over, but before the bowl game. But, I don't think he's going to cleveland. If he wanted to be an NFL head coach, I don't think he would have ever left the Cleveland Browns for MSU back then.
Must clear up misconception... As a LSU / Cleveland fan, I feal I must clear up a few things for my LSU brothers. Per an agreement with the NFL in 1995, the Baltimore Ratbirds are a new (10 year old) franchise. Items moving from Cleveland included the owner and some used football equipment. The coach was fired. The only player still with the Ratbirds is the kicker, Matt Stover. The name, colors, and history stayed in Cleveland in trust until the Browns were "re-born" with a 50 year history (and no talent  (hey, I'm a realist)). The former owner of the Browns has since sold the Baltimore team due to his own financial ineptitude. Also the reason he moved his roster to Baltimore. As an aside, the Browns have one of the NFL's largest Backers associations outside of the home city exactly because so many fans leave those miserable winters. BTW, Cleveland will hire a Director of Football Operations first, a GM second, and a coach third. I hope that Nick stays at LSU. On the other hand, Skip has in the past taked about "when" Nick leaves, not "if".
I won't buy into any of this talk until Nick comes on TV Live himself and says he is taking another job. Just think about it....next year is another highly possible National Championship Caliber Team! Why would he leave now????
I emailed CFN and this what they said. My email to them: His reply to me They took it down right then and there, maybe my email worked. My reply to him And his reply to my reply:
I started 1st grade in Waukegan, IL and I have family there but I'll be damned if I'm going to freeze my ass off for 6 months out of the year.
According to some of the guys over on tigerdroppings, it was just a team meeting about the bowl game.... thats all :thumb: :geaux: IOWA IS TIGERBAIT!!!!
That's good. I didn't see much chatter on any of the Browns message boards. I'd find it hard to believe LSU would have arguably the biggest recruiting weekend in college football history followed up by Sabans departure on Monday.
don't be delusional guys. he's more than likely going to interview with them the same way he did the Bears last year. its his ultimate goal. whether he takes it or not is another story. He is always interested in listening to offers. he has to, its who he is. odds are he stays yet one day he is more than likely in the NFL. maybe sooner than we think. when not if.
