We know what Doucet can do, but to the rest of the country, he is a first-year starter.

Yeah, but what I said is he played for 2 years, and has huge numbers to back it up...

If you compare last year's stats of Doucet with the other WR's on the list, you might have a point with at least one player on the list.

REC YARDS TD's Avg Per Rec
    Doucet 59 772 8 13.1
    Bennett 82 1146 6 14
    Jackson 59 1060 9 18
    Manningham 38 703 9 18.5
    Harvin 34 427 2 12.6

As many have already pointed out, media attention can make a difference. If Brennan is a top QB then why not Jason Rivers, one of his top targets? His stats are 72 1178 10 16.4

Your post even supports my point more. Doucet was a third string reciever and he had better stats than some of the guys on that list. He's tied second on the list in terms of reception, and third in terms of TDs and receiving yards. All this as a third string reciever!! Not to mention he has some rushing yards and returns kickoffs.:thumb: If the media thinks he's not a top 25 guy, then F the media.:hihi:

EDIT: I forgot to mention he was also the no. 1 rated WR coming out of highschool and a first team freshman All-SEC in 2004!! So he's been contributing the whole time..

I didn't include the rushing stats and naturally they all had some. I think the one receiver on that list who by stats alone doesn't compare is Harvin. He gets the attention though since he's a Gator and he was a big time recruit.

I guess part of Doucet's problem isn't even one of his own doing. Had JR returned I'm sure Doucet would have been on the list. With unproven (not untalented) QB's his stats are not a given. Likewise, the Hawaii receiver should prolly be on that list.

Bottom line is it means nothing until they actually play the game.

There's been several references in this thread to "Media attn/respect of lack thereof". Visiting other forums, I've found it interesting that some of whom we (LSU fans) think are "Media darlings" feel they don't get their share either.

You bring on a point that I hadnt thought of....This way, that's true. But I would still think whoever made the list is an idiot since Harvin's QB is someone who thinks he's LT.
