It was actually in regards to player recognition- just to clarify we aren't getting away from the thread- my ADD azz has been know to blurt out some things "Non-related".
All these national media writers do is look at who got a lot of pub last year, see who's coming back, and then rank them as the 25 best players. The problem with Early is he was over shadowed by Bowe and Davis so he didn't get as much media attention as he could have. I predict he will be sick this year and our number one offensive weapon.
My theory about all of the Hawaii offensive weapons is that (like the article states) they are more a product of Jones' system than anything else. That reminds me of the way that Texas Tech guys look great and put up gaudy numbers--until they meet a defense. A lot of that top 25 list was perplexing to me, and I'm in no way sold on a Vandy receiver and Kentucky QB sniffing at such a list.
Because numbers don't indicate talent, silly. Or maybe they do- see Troy Smith. It's so very confusing, I wish the media would get their facts straight with what makes a player great. You know what would be great- wins and losses- overall on the season. Wouldn't that be interesting, just having someone prove they are the best by winning? The best don't always win though, just ask Trev Alberts in 03. See 00:55 into the video.
