I heard something about this last week. I hear he got a grade somewhere in the 1st 3 rounds and that is too hard to pass up.

Going to be interesting since it is no secret he prefers baseball to football but he knows where the $$$ is.

well, i think he'd clearly benefit from another year, but it's his choice. also, he needs to realize that he could make a lot of money with baseball as well.

well, if that's the case, and he's projected that highly, he'd better go.

If someone is telling CJ he'll make more $$$ playing football than baseball, he needs new advisors. JMO

He's testing the waters to satisfy himself that he's making the right choice. It won't stop him from signing a baseball contract, too. In fact an NFL offer will almost guarantee that he'll get the signing bonus that he wants from MLB to keep him out of the NFL. It will make his NFL offer higher, too. They know about baseball.

I'm sure Jones doesn't have an agent . . . but he's sure thinking like one.

If Chad does end up deciding to pursue the 2010 Draft, what does that mean for him playing baseball for us this season?

He might have to take a baseball scholarship, which isn't a full-ride scholarship. But he may not wish to play. He'll not likely get another season as high-profile as in the College World series last year.

Les has to lose 7 scholarship athletes by August to make room for the 25 coming in, but he might be able to carry Jones in the spring.
