The lemmings thing is a myth, but nevertheless, the book, "The Lemming Condition" is a fun read and there a lot of truth in fiction.

 

I like to call it "team those that have recognized that the train is off the rails" but you hang on to that 80% and keep telling yourself that everything is gonna be alright.

I agree with this logic if you are at a school that lacks tradition or is not considered elite, e.g. Vanderbuilt. I do not think you need losing seasons to replace a coach who has previous success. Look at Bobby Bowden at Florida State, Mac Brown at Texas, and because of my age I can go back to Darrell Royal at Texas. All were asked "to retire" because their programs were not longer elite and were consistently getting beat by their rivals. Darrell Royal never had a losing season at Texas, but he had to go when he could no longer beat Oklahoma.

I'm sure the Board of Supervisors don't listen to a single fan, BUT they do listen to a fan base. If LSU starts have empty seats and the program become irrelevant in the SEC, then CLM loses his job.
