Keith Scott, the black man shot and killed by police, certainly not a model citizen and a pretty long rap sheet.

I fail to believe that he was unarmed with as many times as the officers demand he put down the gun. If he was mentally unstable, then the police officer's lives would have definitely been threatened.

There is a still shot showing a gun on the ground.

The main issue I see is whether or not they used the best tactics in avoiding having to use lethal force.

When someone is holding a gun in their hand and refusing to put it down, it's not longer open carry, and considered a threat. Tactics might've played a role, but i don't think so.

Loaded gun, cocked, safety off, scott's prints, blood and DNA on gun. Stick a fork in this one.

I understand the premise here but his rap sheet is irrelevant, really. At least unless they knew of that at the time they stopped him.

To be clear, his rap sheet may speak to how he may have acted, after. I understand that. Just doesn't build a case for use of deadly force, per se.

I agree with you, and I did mention earlier the big issue is whether or not they could have handled the situation without having to resort to deadly force.

They should just start calling firemen out to these. Just hose them down until they stop.

But I think that was considered racist at a time...

And I didn't mean that directly at you. The media loves to do that, so I've noticed.
