I knew we were scheduled to play App State but did not know it was in '09. Nonetheless, I would hardly call that the toughest OOC schedule in the nation. Conferences like the PAC 10 usually have pretty tough OOC schedules because their conference schedules are so weak.

Well, i was kinda being facetious...but Pac 10 having the tough OOC is just crazy talk. Who you talking about...USC? Just because they play Nebraska? Gimme a break. We play VT...it's a wash at best. Don't tell me about them playing ND, either.:nope:

In '09, we play Houston, USM, and Appy St. OOC. Not counting Appy St, Houston and USM aren't cupcakes. Ask UM if Appy St is...I don't know.

Ugh, 3 CUSA schools and a 1AA team (recent upsets aside still a 1AA club in the voters eyes). That's a great OOC next year.:dis:

That's in '09...From what I understand, when the NCAA implemented 12 regular season games, a lot of teams HAD to get I-AA opponents on short notice. That's allegedly why they were at UM yesterday.

I suppose that's a decent OOC, but can't we schedule 1A teams exclusively? I guess 1 every 4 years doesn't hurt us as far as bowls go, but it just gives the rest of college football an excuse for why USC deserves to go to the NC game and we don't.

There is absolutely nothing to gain by playing IAA teams. There are IA teams that are easier to beat and it looks better for us.

Unless we forget how to play defense (or in UM's case, never learned it in the first place), it should not be a worry.

JUST because we play Nebraska? Come on now. We're playing them this year on the road while you have VaTech at home. You sort of overlooked the fact that we have home and aways scheduled with both Virginia and Ohio State over the next few years. As for ND, they look to be downright horrible this year and weren't very good last year despite the 10-2 record. However they are a rivalry for us which is always an added element to ANY game and this year it's a road game for us. Ask Tennessee if it made any difference at all to play OOC on the road.

Heck I don't know if we're for real this year or not. Yesterday wasn't enough of a sample for me to decide. If PC with all that talent can't get it done, I have no answers.
