This is a revised list of their 100 top college players. I think we landed 4 or 5 in their http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=feldman_bruce&id=1709343
i like that list. i think thats how the heisman should be picked....personally...i think the actual best football player in the nation should get it....regardless of team, record, size, position, and year. i give the Tiger defense all the credit in the world, but if jason white was the BEST football player in the nation...then maybe i should try out.
Its funny how Matt Mauck isn't on there and NO Way in hell is Jason White #25. A QB with great #'s in an inferior conference but couldn't win the big games!
I agree...to a point. I think it should depend on talent, contributions to their team, statistics, conference they played in, and character. Based on that, I would have probably voted for Larry Fitzgerald. Take him off Pitt and you have a team that finishes at the bottom of the Big East, IMO. Take Jason White off of Oklahoma and you probably would see a less drastic change than if you took Fitzgerald off..
yes.... but thats if you consider the heisman winner as "the best player in the nation". i think jason white is a very good player, but i would personally put him around #25 (no shame in that...just not #1) just like ESPN did in that article. if people REALLY think that Jason White was the best football player out of roughly 10,000 (117X85) players in div 1a....then they are very poor at evaluating talent. the heisman seems goes to a good upperclassmen on a good team i also believe that White wouldnt have won it if he would have been granted that 6th year before the voting finished. i bet Eli would have won in that case
