yep we were tested which is a good thing. dangerous place to play and ended up whipping them.

this is how you develop a team to hoist the bcs crystal at the end. as long as you get the W.

derrick bryant played a lot late. he seems to have a pretty good nose for the ball. is he a safety playing LB?

we may as well play all dbs.

Haven't done a good job pressuring the QB with the front 4 all season although they are lights out against the run. IMO it has more to do with youth than lack of talent and it should improve with time. However it could cause serious problems down the road if it doesn't improve. Have we played an LB in the first 4 games? Talk about MIA, the LB's have been absolutely non existent. Over all this may be a good thing for the D. Maybe they will stop reading the press clipping and the DB's will shut up and just play. At least 5 int's dropped by DB's to go along with sub par tackling. I really hated the Miami style trash talking in the first half.

Unless Joe Montana shows up and has eligibility left there is no argument that can be made for JL not being the starter, JJ eligible or not. Period, end of conversation. Shepard should be moved to RB and be used on outside runs, screen passes and reverses. He has no business at WR and is only taking reps from younger guys that are waaaaay better. The OL dominated on passing plays but was really handled in the running game until the 4th. What happened to Peterson in the passing game? Beckham is going to be special. Stud did a much better job of mixing it up tonight. Almost forgot to mention Brad Wing, wow, what a weapon. Never underestimate the difference that kind of punting makes in big games.

Any time you go to the #16 team in the nations house and win by 26 you're getting the job done. Winning by such a margin and still having much room for improvement is scary. This team should be much better at the end of the season than they are now, imagine that!

I don't think so, but even so we're questioning whether we should be worried that they threw for so many yards against us

My answer is this isn't the first team they have done this to. They just were never forced to throw it 65 times before. They were way ahead in the Maryland game and got conservative and almost lost. Otherwise, he would have thrown for 500 in that game.

I agree with every single point you make, specifically about the D and their jaw jacking. Really irritates me. Also agree about Shep. He needs some Michael Haynes stick um to catch the ball. Put him the the 'Wild Tiger' or like you said, screens, reverses, ect, but he should not be a featured WR.

Also, PLEASE design some more pass plays for Deangelo Peterson. He could be a HUGE weapon in the middle of the field, but he's under utilized.

Finally, I thought we lost our rhythm on offense when we went into ultra conservative mode and it let WV back into the game. We're conservative enough. Just run the regular offense and we'll be fine.

It is amazing that a state like Louisiana, that produces a million raw athletes, can not produce LB's. It is just an odd thing that can't be explained.

We have the DB DNA down to a science, though.

if you watch shep close, its not really about bad hands. he doesnt know how to position his body to catch the ball in the first place. he looks lost when the ball is in the air. i dont think this can be corrected. his instincts are non-existent.

also, he does not make full effort for whatever reason. we ran a shovel pass and end around to freaking peterson because they have no faith in shep.

shep is a lot of hype. hes reggie bush against nfl players.

A little concerning on the high passing yardage given up. Something to think about, though, is how WVU had such a long field for most of the game. One drive went 90 yards and another 80. While our DBs didn't stop them, that's at least partly the reason for the high passing numbers. We gave up too many yac on the underneath stuff, mostly due to poor tackling.
