http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/chip-kelly-to-sec-is-possible/ It's speculation, nothing more, but it brings up some interesting possibilities. If Chip would commit to some larger, more powerful players than he did at Oregon, I think he could be very successful in the SEC. He could out hurry-up Auburn, and kids would be lining up to play for him.
True. But I doubt winning/losing games 52-49 will sit very well with the fan base. Plus a little finesse Chip Kelly team will never beat a Nick Saban team. And beating Bama will be a HUGE factor in deciding the next ball coach.
Why couldn't he? If can bring in a solid DC and get out of the way and worry about O production. Sometimes it's hilarious to even read this board, we want a productive offense but we don't want an over-productive offense that would score TOO much. Maybe the reason there were 52-49 type scores in the PAC 12 is b/c that's the nature of that league just as we are used to 21-17 point games. Jimbo ain't coming to BR, it's time for us fans to be prepared to be excited for option B or C, and hopefully not options D or E...
I think Kelly's biggest issue at Oregon was recruiting undersized guys, who then got pushed around when they played a more physical team. I am not necessarily suggesting that I want him at LSU (I'd rather have Shaw), but I do think, if he were willing to adapt, he could be successful in the SEC.
