Anyways, since Clay is not coming to LSU, who are the realistic candidates to take over as DC? If Campo really is being considered then that is great news. Campo has fielded some good defenses in the pros. Does he run a pressure-oriented defense?
If we get Ryan it could be his high school coach that is the QB coach. They sound like a package deal.
Coach Miles said he would not announce his staff until all positions were accepted and filled. With Clay returning to Stillwater, and the article claiming there wasn't any room for him at LSU, could this possibly signal that our coaching staff is ever-so-close to beinging announced? At first, if Clay came, it was rumored that he would have been DC . Then it was LB's coach ....now he's not even here! ...Do you guys think that Mike Collins will be retained as our LB coach? I think, at the least, that Collins will be retained, and I also believe that Clay's return to Stillwater (sounds like a movie title ), means that Miles has his DC picked out, but is waiting for the Jimbo/Crowton situation to clear itself up. At the least, Clay was a "fall-back" option in the event that Miles couldn't find an upgrade. I wouldn't think that Miles would tell Clay, "Sorry. 'No mas'", if he was in danger of not having a DC lined up, waiting in the wings.
