Series of events: -Clay could be LSU DC -Clay could become the LB Coach -Miles was in contact with Campo and Edwards for DC & LB coach -Now Clay will not be DC or LB Coach Is it possible that Clay was initially being considered, then Campo and Edwards showed interest and interviewed that Les Miles decided that Clay wouldn't be offered the position? BostonBengal and LSUGrad, You both said you had warmed up to Clay being the DC because with better talent his defense would perform much better than his system did at OSU. I will say that is a given. Take any coach and give him better athletes and his team will perform better. There is no doubt Clay's system would've performed better. The question is whether or not his abilities and his system would be good enough to push LSU to the #1 or #2 defense in the SEC? This is the hard question to answer. Personally I would prefer to let a more experienced and proven DC take the position. If Campo is legitimately a candidate or wants the job the decision is this: -Give Clay an oppurtunity with better athletes than he has had and see what he can do in the SEC Or -Give Campo, who is a proven DC and has fielded some good defenses in the pros, the oppurtunity with the great athletes at LSU. I think I know who I would pick before I can finish typing this sentence.
You must have missed the days of the drop LB     No doubt Campo would be the better pick here. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :geauxtigs LSU!
