Oh, no doubt. But the feds don't routinely harass college athletes about unimportant matters.

I'd lawyer up too. And I'd probably have a pretty good idea of why I'm being investigated.

No. In fact, it was officially reported on the radio this morning that he is still being federally investigated.

Bull. If the feds came knocking at my door, the first thing I'd do is call an attorney, the best one I could afford.

And the feds do indeed routinely -- I don't know if I'd call it harass -- talk tough to people who are connected to investigations whether or not those people are targets of the investigation.

I know this from personal experience. It's not fun when someone who says they're with the DoD (know I know he was probably with No Such Agency) and the FBI (he actually showed me his badge, along with the first page of the dossier of information they had on me) shows up at your front door, asks to look on your computer with no warrant, and says, "We're not accusing you of anything" with a huge implied yet at the end of it (my husband was on the phone with me when they knocked at the door, and when he heard the agent say that, he made the usual 22 minute drive from his office to our house in 10 minutes...and, yes, he called a lawyer on the way home). I knew I didn't do anything wrong. But they wouldn't outright tell me what they were investigating, made a lot of vague references, and I wasn't dumb enough to assume that just because I was innocent that didn't mean they couldn't make my life hell if they thought I could help them in any way.

So the RP situation could just be that he knows some people who did some bad things, maybe he was aware of what they were doing but wasn't invovled. Just because he's been questioned by the feds, and just because he was smart enough to get a lawyer doesn't mean he's guilty.

Or he could be involved, which certainly wouldn't surprise me. Not because RP has shown any inclination toward criminal behavior or because the feds have talked to him. Just because LSU seems to attract guys who like copy machines.

    From DandyDon:
A couple of days ago, I mentioned that there were strong rumors on the internet that Ryan Perrilloux might be in trouble with the law. I later regretted posting that because it was nothing more than rumors. Yesterday (Wednesday) many of the state's TV stations and radio stations reported that Perrilloux is the subject of a federal investigation. According to all reports, the investigating is still in the early stages. I made several phone calls Wednesday afternoon to people very close to Ryan Perrilloux and they do not feel as if the sophomore quarterback is going to be charged with any wrong-doing. I hate to report on the story, but I feel like it is my duty to keep my readers informed on important issues such as this. Here is a link to WWL who I believe broke the story.

You're right. It happens all the time. I'm sure we all know many, many people who have been or are being investigated by the feds. It's routine and it's no big deal.

    Gotcha...

My father in law went through a situation where the feds told me that they were going to arrest him the day after I met with them. He had done nothing wrong and wasn't willing to do anything but tell the truth. They searched his business and took boxes of documents. He was NEVER arrested and the agents who returned the documents apologized for bothering him so much over a THREE YEAR period. The government was after one of his business competitors and they eventually did get him. The bottom line is the agent I spoke to flat out lied to me about arresting my father in law the next day. I immediately got him a lawyer who did very little actually because it was one big bluff. I'm not saying that is whats going on with Ryan Perrilloux but don't assume our goverment is as pure as the wind driven snow.
