So what was it in 2001 when Saban didn't take us to the National Championship...or 2002...or 2004? Huh? Hello? Could it be coaching? Hmmm...he got lucky in 2003 and we backed into the BCSCG then "shared" it with an AP "champion". See how stupid all of this sounds?
I think it would be nice to see Les Miles have some emotion when those guys on the field are fumbling. I'd personally like to see him fired up and get "all up in their koolaid". Sometimes, a coach has to show tough love.
It was difficult to watch this game. I still think Miles is the right guy for the job but it gets difficult to defend the guy in games like this. How many big SEC games is LSU going to play and win/lose ugly under Miles besides the Bama game last year? Coaching isn't responsible for the fumble at the 1 yd line; JR and the center were. Coaching also isn't responsible the special teams fumbles but it is Miles responsibilty to shore up the special teams play and we all knew that was an area of concern coming into this game. That said, it was and is unrealistic to expect LSU to have won all three of the big SEC road games. I said I would be ecstatic if LSU finished 10-2 and I still stand by that statement. I think LSU will treat the Tennessee game as a revenge game for last year. Who knows what will happen with Arky this year.
Saban had to build from scratch, Les can't even maintain what he was handed. See how smart it all sounds now?
I think there were just too many fatal self inflicted wounds by this team today with mental errors that resulted in letting the air out of the sail. Otherwise, I think the game would have been much closer. The players are not playing as well as they are capable of. I suspect play calling on the offense is limited by what they can do (i.e. running game issues). When some posters said they are outcoached, do they mean their offense against Pellini or their defense against out offense, or both?????? I thought they were doing quite well until their own mistakes start hurting them. ________ Marijuana Vaporizer
