There was a whole lot of "don't give a shit" going on by fans and players in that game. The season began and ended with the Bama game.
It's tough to let go of control. I completely understand that. I think Les thinks he's better at offensive coaching than he actually is and in my opinion caused LSU more than a few wins which in turn cost LSU some very real chances to win championships. I see Les as Bowden style coach that can be very successful if he knows where his bread is buttered and brings in and allows coordinators who are great, to do their job. BTW, I miss Lesticles. Remember him? Success has made Les more interested in not losing than winning.
It got legs because we got to see it every damn week on TV or in person for the last 5,6,7 years. It got legs because the shit all looked the same. To the point where many of us could tell the play just by the formation and who was on the filed. It got legs because it is true. Lets not forget that we have had some pretty stout defenses that helped put a lot of those points on the board. I know you don't want to believe it, it pains you, but our offense has sucked for a long time. I am hopeful that this trend will turn around and we might actually scare someone when we have the ball. Typically it is just pound them into submission and hope like hell we are ahead when the clock hits 00:00. Works for the most part, but has burned us at some VERY critical times as well.
He has a history of making changes at coordinator when it's been warranted. Look at what he's just done with Cam. See the Chavis hire. Les absolutely knows where his bread is buttered. I contend that Les didn't get to the top of his profession by being an idiot, though. However, many of our fans think he is.
That wasn't the point of his posting the TOP. Shane was saying our defensive breakdowns were caused by tired defenses. That was certainly NOT the case in the Bama game.
