That's pretty much how I saw it going down anyway. Alleva and certain power people always wanted Jimbo and Orgeron could have beaten every opponent by 40 points and it wouldn't have changed that.
He's doing on the field what Miles couldn't, field a damn offense. He's doing it with the same players, the same plays, a TE coach running the offense (in lieu of 1.5 million Cameron), and a grad assistant. If he wins out and has a good OC on deck, I'm offering him. Jimbo has some red flags, Herman has some unknowns, and Miles earned his pink slip.
Just hope we can retain Eaux, but getting Jimbo is understandable. In the least it paints us as top of the food chain. Just not so sure he's the right guy to run the program, but Eaux could help the transition.
You've upped your game, but no, not bassackwards... Miles was resting on his laurels. Against the mighty Ajax St Cocks LSU managed 1 quarter of offense with a 1.5 million OC, and fielded bottom barrel offenses year after year with everything at his fingertips. It was Miles' fault he got fired and you may be one of 10 folks who think he got an unfair shake.
Hell LSU had the highest paid assistants for years, and the only side of the ball that ever earned their money was the defense.
Of all the folks I interact with who we're defending miles to the hilt, you are the only one still banging his drum.
Eaux has done a fine job, with a good OC he's my choice. Jimbeaux retaining Eaux might be even better.
I would like us to keep him as well but unfortunately I think there will be a great deal of teams looking for a coach and he may just have caught someone's eye. Watching how he saved an otherwise terrible season with Miles, I feel someone will offer and he will take it. Getting snubbed again will not go over well. The worse part about it is we will lose a great recruiter. Jimbo won't win without the horses. Say want you want about Les, but Frank and Les brought in some talent and without them or O we might just hurt our recruiting. Especially if O ends up somewhere close.
