After the extra point to make it 21-17. TV timeout. On the LSU radio version simulcast they didn't go to commercial. Coach O is getting in the faces of the defensive starters, jumping up into their faces and yelling at the top of his lungs, obviously demanding they make a stop on the next series by Clemson. In-fucking-credible.
That's part of what I love about Coach Eaux--he's like one of us, feeling exactly the same: get ahead, then shut Clemson's O down tighter than a mosquito's a$$hole.
LSU obviously made adjustments and Clemson didn't for whatever reason on defense. Part of me also thinks that LSU ran the same plays over and over, right fade to Jamar. It seems like and I heard this before that Clemson probably knew what was coming and just couldn't stop it. It was either the Georgia or OU game I heard the same about.
I believe they had Chase in man, and they recognized that and just said fuck it. Our guy can beat yours probably 50% of the time, and 100% of the time will ensure its at worst an incomplete pass. Win
The key was moving Clyde out wide so it would force Clemson to show their hand on defense. The rest was history, as they say.
Yes. I read from many sources--including Clemson players--that they had no answer for LSU's plays, even when they knew what was coming.
