They did tell Kiffen that he had unlimited funds to hire his staff at Tennessee...

Let them pay almost a million for an assistant... LSU will still kill UT.

Living close to the Washington DC area, I can't tell you how much this is starting to remind me of Dan Snyder.

Here is TigerSportsZone looking like a total ass:

    http://www.tigersportszone.net/articles/orgeron-done

Here is their answer to what's going on:

"We reported earlier, as did other outlets, that Orgeron had agreed to take the LSU offer. This information, obviously, contradicts that.

As this information develops we will continue to update it."

    Pretty funny.

Bobby also said, earlier in the day on the radio, that he thought Orgeron would either stay with the Saints or be at LSU, and that the decision would come sometime on New Year's day. He said he doubted he'd leave the state.

If this turns out to be true, just shows how cognizant the rest of the SEC was that LSU would be essentially an unstoppable powerhouse...had to take major bucks(and LSU was going to pay major bucks) to get Coach O to change his mind.

He would have been a nice addition, but he wouldn't have been that huge. LSU is doing pretty damn good recruiting without him and other quality DL coaches are available. Would have been nice to have him but no big loss. Plus how would the staff meshed? A DL coach making more than the DC? Not so sure if there wouldn't have been some tension and we may actually be better off without him IMO.

I can't believe being from Louisiana that he would turn down such a great offer from LSU. I do think he'll regret it one day & probably blew his last chance to ever coach for the Tigers. Instead of being a hero in LA I now believe he'll be considered an enemy & traitor by many. I don't wish him any harm but think he made a huge mistake. Hope all of our new coaches are good recruiters because it'll be harder recruiting against O/Tiffins, Saban and Jimbo, as well as Meyer, Brown/Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Richt/Georgia, USC, and even the new coaches at Miss State, Nutt, etc. We'll be fine. Geaux Tigers!!!:helmet:
