I was excited at the possibility of Orgeron coming to LSU. Then, after the news of him going to Tennessee, I felt deflated. Now, I'm feeling: good for him and I wish him well. He's a talented guy.

It's hard to miss what you never had. I think the possibility was nice and he would've been a great addition, but LSU will still be strong on Defense and in recruiting.

    Geaux Tigers!

I was excited about Coach O coming from the standpoint of being such a demonstrative guy and his recruiting prowess.

The 2 things I was worried about was over paying him (heck we're only paying Chavis 500K) and the fact we would be stepping on Henson's toes if we gave the recruiting coordinator job to Orgeron. And don't give me the Co-coordinator crap again, I'll puke.

We just need to get a really solid D-line coach who can recruit to take up the slack for Lane's loss.

Love the HatcherTiger one-liners. You are absolutely right, too. Success on the field is the biggest recruiting tool anyway.

Man, when I lived in Tennessee all I had to do was pay for the pizza to get the Vols fans to leave me alone...

Supposedly Tennessee is paying Coach Orgeron a whopping 900K.

Let's see what the details show.

If that's the case, then he had to choose Tennessee. They were just gonna do anything to get him.

I really think he wanted to come to LSU, but when the money difference was that much and the fact he will learn under one of the great defensive minds, it was a no-brainer.

Very true statements. The bidding war may end up hurting the universities. I think that is getting out of hand, IMO. Hope Henson is staying put. He has done a great job with recruiting.

What solid D-line coach do we have on the board???

Now I'm kind of hoping for Tony Hughes for DB coach. Hughes is some kind of recruiter.
