1. Not much info out there but here is some. I saw Karl play at both LSU and New Orleans and he seems to be a really nice guy just not much coaching experience. It's hard for me to believe he is ready to be a DC, but I'm gald to hear he will be back in purple and gold but as a D-line coach would be better.

"Karl Dunbar enters his first season with the Bears. He was named the team's defensive line coach February 10, 2004. Dunbar, a former college standout from LSU and six-year veteran at defensive tackle in the NFL, joins the Bears following six years coaching at the collegiate level, most recently as the defensive line coach at Oklahoma State (2002-03) where he helped increase the Cowboys sack total from 28 to 32 during their 9-4 season which included a loss to Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl.

Dunbar, who was an all-Southeastern Conference lineman at LSU as a senior (1986-89), was the assistant strength and conditioning coordinator at his alma mater from 2000-02.

Prior to his stint at LSU, he spent two seasons as defensive line coach at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. He began his coaching career as the defensive line coach at Opelousas (La.) High School in 1996, then served as defensive coordinator at Beau Chene High School in Arnaudville, La., in 1997.

Drafted in the eighth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1990 NFL Draft, he played for the New Orleans Saints (1992-93) and spent two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (1994-95). Dunbar also played with the Orlando Thunder (1992) and the Rhein Fire (1995) of the World League.

Dunbar graduated from LSU with a degree in criminal justice in 1992. He is married, Pamela, and has three children, Karmichael MacKenzie II, Mickel Angelle and Nickolette Alyce."
