I was thinking the same, Stacey... And noticing that most of them are negative. I'm constantly amazed at how many posters think they know more than the head coach. Reminds me of a friend who used to ask me "If you're so smart, how come you ain't rich?" :geaux:
Well like I said in another post... Arky won the game yes, but it was no blow out, we broke down and gave the game away. But there was a guy selling LSU Sucks t-shirts in the parking lot when we were leaving the game. But who obviously sucks more, an Arky team who beat us by 1 after all the breaks they got... or the LSU team who still has a bowl game to play in?
Guess I am a "koolaid drinker" if I don't agree that Miles needs to go? Whatever. Regardless of liking the coach or not, which many of you don't, or giving him or Saban credit, denying his accomplishments while here are impossible. This has been a terrible year in comparison to his previous ones, and changes should be expected. Does the guy get a chance to do it or not? Not even programs like bama and notre dame are idiotic enough to can their coach after the run Miles has had. We truly would find NOBODY to come here. If you want our program to take on the schizophrenic nature of Al Davis, maybe y'all should become raider fans instead. How does that knee jerk style work for them? And this in no way absolves any of the coaches, including Miles, from responsibility for this team's performance. Plenty of blame to go around. I only hope many of you continue your doomsday attitudes, and give up your season tickets. As I have said before, I could use another 4-8 seats in the stadium while Miles and LSU compete for another championship. Some of you guys just absolutely crack me up.
These are all credible comments and criticisms. I agree with the concerns, and submit that CLM will make the necessary adjustments to correct things. If not, he will be looking for a new job, but not yet.
Au Contraire, I simply show up more when the weather's colder. Unless I'm duck hunting. Honestly, I understand that Mile's is going no where this year. It would take another similar 7-5 season to get the conversation beyond the niche market. But, speaking on behalf of the niche's, this 7-5 season was not acceptable. Now, a lot of nail biting losses would have been viewed differently by me. The only question in my mind is how does a freshman QB's poor performance spill over and affect (demoralize) an entire team. Mile's ultimately gets a pass from me because of the QB situation.
Florida last year had no defense, just like we do this year. Big difference is that they had a heisman QB to help cover up the stench of the defense. We on the oher hand are weak on defense and have no QB to help cover that up. That alone will add a loss or two to your record.
I don't think it's time for head coaching change. The Co DC's for sure needs to go. There may even be an argument for Crowton to go. But not Miles. BUT.... this time next year? If we have not made the changes and reaped the benefits. If we have one more season like this and you will hear the grumble for coaching change turn into a roar. I'm going to mark it on my calendar, this time next year if we are not in contention for NC, there will be one or several threads here where potential new head coaches will be discussed. Not advocating for this change but just predicting that at least one of them will say something like "would Spurrier leave SC?" We are so freakin' predictable. :dis:
Spurrier looks like he will end up on the hot seat if he gets blown out by Clemson... Can we hire him as our DC?
