Forgot to mention that Fisher does have 1 national championship under his belt too... I think you highly underestimated Fisher and what he did along with not knowing that Miles meddled in his offense in those mentioned games.
this is an extremely ignorant statement. Especially considering that Crowton's offense managed to put up a whole 8 points against the mighty cougars of BYU. Crowton could be a very good OC but his resume pales in comparision to Fisher's.
thanks. I wasn't going to post but i saw your ridiculous statement and I felt compelled to say something. odds are that I won't post again. I'm not big on message boards. Just looking to read.
Right now you have to concede that Florida has the best duo. But Miles and Brady both have the potential to accomplish at LSU what has been done at Florida - particularly Miles.
Absolutely right, I stand corrected. I suppose I was focused on LSU and UF as the top two teams. What I'll add to this, is clearly, this is a lightning strikes year for UF--so that skews the discussion. On a pure comparisons standpoint, I'll add a few random thoughts. One, you can see themes in comparing both programs. Florida's coaching driven philosophies seems centered around offense vs. LSU's focus on defense. Meyer and Donovan are very "cerebral" coaches with perhaps more storied pedigrees. LSU's choices, more blue collared guys. Both schools lie in recruiting hotbeds, although the edge probably goes to FL, in college towns. Meyer and Donovan take the center stage of their coaching staffs--Miles and Brady probably in some ways get overshadowed by their assistants. If you consider head to head matches, it's closer than you think. Miles is 1-1 vs Meyer. Brady is 5-8 vs Florida. It's certainly going to be the overarching SEC rivalry for years to come... As for the poster that would quickly discount Brady as opposed to Miles, I'd say, when Miles actually wins a couple SEC titles, then let's judge. Miles also inherited Saban's team. Brady got Brown's probation. What I'd say about Miles tho' is that 1. he's proven to be a better recruiter than Brady (there are some probation affects there) and 2. he's been, despite his media "awkwardness" at times, a more genuine, caring "player's coach" which is endearing him to fans vs. Brady, who has some catching up to do. All in all, I'd probably rate the combo higher than #8, and overall, I do think LSU is right there with UF in the SEC. Let's hope next year, they flip flop! :geauxtige :bball: :champs:
