Seen pics of it. Pretty cool. Have you ever been to the aviation museum in Richmond, VA? Got an SR71 Blackbird right out in front

To derail the thread even further :D, many years ago in the late '60s, I was a young airman stationed at Reese AFB outside of Lubbock. As an additional duty I was a Security Police augmentee. Typically we got called out to guard aircraft crash sites or if the cops were under manned. A SR71 declared an inflight emergency and its onboard data systems said Reese was the most logical place to land considering it was an AFB. Maintenance personnel cleared out a hangar towing T-37s & T-38s that were undergoing maintenance out to the flight line. We got called up and knew something was up when they gave us our weapons (M1s??) with a full load of ammo. They went over the Rules of Engagement three times. At that point I knew the shit was real. We were taken to the hanger and given our assignments. The next day the maintenance crew flew in from Beale AFB and began to work on the blackbird. I think it took 2 days before it was ready to depart. The flight crew thanked us and we got a front row seat to watch it depart. A majestic airplane.
