    Hell yes.

We've got UGA, UT and UK.

You have UGA, UF, and USCe.

    Tell me the difference?

so you think playing a team that's been the east champion 8 times every year, where some teams go years without playing them is even?

    UGA = UGA

    UF > UT

    USC > UK (this year)

    absolutely.

if you only played one team in the east it would be a factor. but a team has to play 50% of them, so after a three or four year period it is even. has florida really been betetr than tennessee and georgia in the last decade...i think they are all pretty even.

but i must defend the rotation! ;)

    • Bama's permanent opp is their most played Rival from the East (pre division play)
    • Aubie's permanent opp is their most played Rival from the East (pre division play)
    • LSU's permanent opp is their most played Rival from the East (pre division play)
    • Ole Piss' permanent opp is their most played Rival from the East (pre division play)
Give it up already. These opponents have been in play since WELL before breaking into divisions, and some before the SEC was even formed. There is no conspiracy, this was not done to help or hurt any team(s), and TV ratings didn't even exist at the time they got started, so that ain't it either. These are traditional rivalries, and should be preserved. Seriously, your argument would be similar to if tOSU started complaining they get Michigan every year when some Big Ten schools don't.

    i dunno nootch.

the point is not about traditional rivalries, the point is having a team that is year in year out always in the running for the east as a lock.

(i'm pretty sure i posted all this on page two or so)

but OU/Nebraska is a traditional rivalry and made perfect sense when there were 8 teams in the conference. but now it is not an annual game. PAC 10 playing a round robin makes sense b/c it's doable with a 12 game schedule. but when you have twelve teams in the conference like the SEC does now, it is not a balanced schedule for everyone involved.

the state of alabama and tenn wouldn't blow up if it played two years on and two years off.

i would love to see a schedule like the big 12 (i mean big XII) where in a four year cycle LSU would face from the East

    year one
    at Florida
    at Vandy
    South Carolina

    year two
    FLorida
    Vandy
    at South Carolina

    year three
    Georgia
    at Tenn
    Kentucky

    Year four
    at Georgia
    Tennesee
    at Kentucky

and year 5 would repeat year 1 and so on.
