well i would base it on a better USC defense and UK's loss of their best player, woodson, who probably gave UK 2-3 more wins last year than they should've had.
with all kentucky lost, USC will be better. mark it and we'll check in Dec. If i'm wrong, i'll fess up, i've been wrong before.
I agree that it sucks, but the other guy was trying to make it seem as if this was all done intentionally to benefit Bama. It is of no benefit to any one team. UT is year in and year out in the running for the east on Bama's schedule. UGA is year in year out in the running for the East on Aubie's schedule. Each of the West's top 3 (traditionally) has 1 of the East's top 3 (traditionally). Some years we get 2, some years only the 1 (UF got all 3 from the west a couple years ago).
im voting for round robin (my vote counts, right?) drop some pansy OOC games. SEC sched would rock. not like the crappy home sched you get every other year. you have an SEC CG if needed and the winner gets an automatic spot in the NC game.
It's not about traditional rivalries, I'm after winning championships, and I'd like a level playing field, and locking in what's been the best team in the east since we went to div. play is not a level playing field.
read my post nootch, it was to keep bama/tenn playing every year on the same weekend, i said specifically it wasn't done to help them as far as the conf. race. I'm no conspiracy theorist. But the way it's set up, it could.
yeah. while i don't think it was INSTITUTED to benefit bama, i will go back and reiterate that it CONTINUES b/c the SEC offices are located in bama and the two biggest cross division rivals are tenn-bama, and AU-uga if the two biggest cross division rivalries were UK-MSU or Ole miss-Vandy, the conference would have blown up this system a while back.
so while i'm speaking of injustices, can i mention what a benefit it is for UGA to have the SECcg in atlanta or the SEC baseball tourney in hoover for the the bama teams. man that's unfair, that's like having the sugar bowl......oh nevermind.
