looks real objective. probably based on opinions of their writers, which in turn is based on perceptions, rather than a detailed look at accomplishments in terms of overall records, records vs competition level, NCs, and players mentored to the next level. I feel pretty sure that if these considerations were taken into account, and a detailed objective list were then generated, LSU would be in the top 5, much less top 10 of coaching staffs.

No doubt Snyder has been incredibly successful compared to what others have been able to achieve at KSU. During his first go round there he knew the only way he could get the players who could compete in the B 12 was by going the juco route. Then he coached them up as well.

On another note I think Kansas should have kept the big guy as he was the only one who has had success at that school.

There, slight adjustment. Given what he has to work with and the results he gets its pretty clear to me. Damn hard to argue against at least.

I agree, guy leaves they drop off the map, he returns, never misses a beat.

Quick story: I know, I got a Million of them.

When Bill retook the HC job, he called Phil Bennett to be his DC and HC in waiting. Phil turned it down. I saw Phil at a Spring Game this year and got to have a short visit with him, great guy. As for Phils son, Sam.......

Sam Bennett is a GA at Rice University, on the offensive side of the ball. Got a chance to talk with Sam also a few months back.

Athlon doesn't think much of LSU's chances this year or our coach . . . but they rank Tiger Stadium #1 in the country and they rank LSU football uniforms #1 in the SEC.

Kind of a mixed bag. I could pull up last years Athlon's, much of the same. Most on this board could a better job in picking the top 25 to start the season. Years ago you could just plug in a ND, Mich, Penn St, Fla and Miami in your top 10 an be good, how the big dogs have fallen.

All of these pre-season prognostication magazines & websites should only focus on the major conferences, then maybe they could do a credible job. One thing all of these guys do is piggyback on other writers articles, which is why we see & hear the same shit over & over again.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine is out, a few things from it......

Maea Teuhema is on the 1st Super Team Offense.

Justin McMillan is one of the top 30 QB in the state this year.

Tx had 392 players sign LOI with teams for 2014, the state of La. had 101 players.
Think about this one, the Houston area had 110 players sign with schools, 9 more than the entire state of LA.

LSU signed more Tx players (6) than any team in the SEC.

They had a section on last years 2013 Super Teams.

Tony Upchurch, was a 1st teamer at WR.

Two LSU guys Ed Paris and Jamal Adams, were on the 1st team Super Defense.

Two LSU players made the 2nd Super team on defense, Trey LMAO (DL) and Sione Teuhema (LB).

    The preseason top 10 teams...

    Fla St
    bama
    oregon
    barn
    oka
    joke-hi-o-st
    LSU (Yep 7th)
    ucla
    usce
    mich st

Tons of info, a great book with tons of info.
